hooker 2055 or stock manifolds ???

Axle/Gears: BG 9 bolt
hooker 2055 or stock manifolds ???

Hello

I have a 1989 trans am 5.7 with stock manifold,cat delete pipe and magnaflow catback its sounds okay but want more...will some hooker 2055 give the car
a different sound....or will it just be louder ? ?

Headers will make it a bit louder. And you will see a performance increase. If you just want a better sound, maybe looking into a different muffler would be a better option.

From my experience changing a ton of different cars and trucks from manifolds to shorties and long tube headers, you will get a different tone and it will be louder. If your car had blowmasters it would have a very, deep tingy sound with headers that it won't with manifolds. Even shorties will give a decent power gain if the Y-pipe, catalytic converter and catback are addressed at the same time. The factory logs aren't even useful as boat anchors, although they might work as paper weights if you cut them up. The last one I pulled off a 305 broke into two pieces when it was unbolted.

Hey almost ready to put my 2055 ind but there is a plug with a wire in the passengerside that is broken. What is that for??

Could be for the knock sensor.
