Ok guys come spring I will be buttoning up my 5.3 swap and it will finally need an exhaust. All i have is a mild cam running through fbody manifolds. My idea is 2.5 out factory routing to 3in? I'm stuck on either an actual muffler or bullet style maybe a glasspack? Possibly straight pipe? I'm basically open to whatever you guys think will sound good. Also I'm not apposed to the dreaded Flowmaster but I'm not stuck on it either. My buddies 383 camaro has a super 44 on it and I like it so I was heading that direction I think? Suggestions would be great and the older the better

 

Swap headers, 2.5" pipe from each bank to a 3" merger then 3" all the way back into the system or muffler of your choice.

 

I think iv decided on a spintech muffler. So basically stock routing single 3in. Not sure where to mount the muffler maybe stock? Not sureally if that will work think it will fit where the cat is suggestions?

 

Further back you need less flow to support the same power, further forward will quiet things more.

Either way most spintech mufflers have a squared off case that is hard to fit in tight spaces, I don't think most will fit where the converters go.

 

Yea I saw the measurements I really don't see it fitting there so it'll probably go back to where the stock one goes unless someone has a better idea?

I also like the magnaflow rumble, I feel its nice and deep. Also I like the flowmaster delta 50 series. I was considering that one without a cat because it wasnt crazy loud or anything. Ended up goin hooker catback

 

I also agree with this, ditch the 2.5 for a 3

 

Yea I'm for sure going 3in after the y. I think I'm staying spintech and going to throw it in the stock location. Well that's the plan at least haha
