Need some advice on Headers

Recently, I've been looking to put either short tube or long tube headers on my RS. I've been going more towards short tubes simply because of the fact I just bought a brand new cat converter and don't want to take it off abd have that to go to waste. However while reading about headers, I read that they can cause either the cat or O2 sensor to fail early. I wanted to know from you guys is this true if I were to run the short tubes and if it is true, what can be done to help prevent that

you have to use a heated O2 sensor with headers. and they wont affect your new cat either

It's more of a question of performance than it is your cat, it'll be fine. And the o2 will be okay too. But short/ long headers make different hp/torq at different rpm. Look into that and decide.

Ok thanks. Just needed to be safe lol. And I've read how the short gives me hp/torque at lower rpms and long tubes would give me hp/torque at higher rpms

I understand. Good luck! Slip and kooks headers fit really well as far as long headers, and dougs fit well too(what I have) they're about 300-500$ cheaper. Most shorty headers will fit fine though.
