Best Cat-back and Headers???
Best Cat-back and Headers???
i wuz wondering for my car with a 5.7ltr TPI, what is the best cat-back? i wuz going to go for the flowmaster w/ dual 3" outlets but, i think i mite go for the hooker cat-back, i have heard they flow better and sound great too, and i currently have Edelbrock 1 5/8" headers, should i run 1 3/4" on my 350??? what headers and cat-back combo's do you suggest???

It depends what kind of sound u want. I would go with the Flowmaster exhaust system u mentioned. I have seen flow comparisons for just about every muffler except the Aerochamber so I can't say on flow. I'd also go with SLP 1 3/4's, just how much modding will u be doing??

I'm not too sure about the best cat-back. I've got Dynomax's 2.5" cat-back on my car and I really like it. Sounds good + cheap = good.
I will say that I would stay away from Dynomax's headers though. I've got their "Street Series" headers and they really messed up. From what I can tell they rusted and some of the tubes seperated from the collectors. It really sounds like poo. I'm gonna get a set of ceramic coated headers, maybe from SLP, whenever I scrape up enough cash.

Flowmaster sounds better to me and to most probably, and I have still never seen any kind of actual stats stating how good your exhaust "out flows" Flowmaster or any other exhaust. Not saying it doesn't, it might, but I'd like to see some stats for that.

It was posted awhile back about different muffler flows, I believe the aerochamber came in 2nd, not sure which was first, but I know it wasn't flowmaster.

I had to have it welded on, but didn't take the guy long at all to do. I think I remember someone saying that on one of the hangers you have to lower it or something.
