Does anyone use the Flowmaster 50 series?

I've got a Flowmaster catback system on my 92 rs 305 that came with the car, I hate the way it sounds and was thinking about changing the muffler out to the 50 series. Has anyone done this, what do you think about the result of the sound. A sound clip would be cool if you're able to put one up here.

Magnaflow will sound better and be more efficient....I've had both.

not sure the series of mine, Friday I could crawl under the car and check it out for ya, if it is a 50 series, you could swing by and hear it in person if you wanted to I'm on the Norfolk side of Virginia beach.

50 series are the suv/truck muffler so if you're looking for that signature aggressive flow master sound you probably won't like them. I had a force II cat back which is a pair of 50 series on my '88 vette (L98) and the worn out factory mufflers sounded better. That being said I've also used a super 44 on a '85 z28 with a 350 swap and it still sounded way too quiet for what's supposed to be one of their most aggressive mufflers. Obviously there are different factors like whether you have exhaust manifolds or headers or cat converters ect.

I had "one" on my 4.7 v8 tundra pickup .....it was one of my favorite mufflers of all time ....cruising and idle- low rumble , get on it and it immediately woke up.....in that application it sounded great.

Right now on my 305 I am running this IMCO 77583 Flowmaster knockoff ..... aluminized, 100% welded case ,has a single delta plate in it from what I can see, $37.00 FREE shipping off ebay, Sounds great ......appears to be good quality , great welds etc ..... Attached Thumbnails

I heard it on youtube and it sounds really good. And if it goes bad, you haven't lost much.

Ill second the magnaflow systems. Stainless cat back on my 305. People tell me shes just snotty enough to be rude but not annoying like a Flowmaster.
