Hooker Header Crossmember??

Has anyone used this product before? It's suppose to be ideal for Long tube headers which is what I have. This could help the routing and ground clearance. Just curious if anyone has made this work. Thanks!

Re: Hooker Header Crossmember??
It was designed as part of the complete Hooker 3rd-gen LS swap system and was also validated to allow performing an LT1 T56 swap behind a SB Chevy in 3rd-gens...some users have successfully used it in other ways by luck, but it should not be looked at as a universal fit component.

It's a good product but it's meant for a T56 and long tubes. Badnblk has it. Most of us that have T56 and long tubes have just made our own crossmembers because this is relatively new and the prior T56 crossmembers are not ideal.

Re: Hooker Header Crossmember??
Hello Tibo. The crossmember was actually designed to provide installation of a 4th-gen F-body T56, T56 Magnum, TH400, 2004R, 4L60-4L70 or 4L80/4L85 transmission behind an LS engine in a 3rd-gen. Due to the specific geometry provided by the Hooker LS engine swap brackets, and the LT1 T56 being 5/8" shorter to the mount than an LS T56, it worked out to provide support for LT1 T56 swaps behind a SB also. You don't have to cut the rails open to install the nutted backing plates either, as there are already holes in the rails that allow that...you do have to drill the holes for the rear bolts however.

I responded to Drone358 on this thread:

On post #38 I explained what I had to do to get the hooker crossmember to work with a T-5 (factory 3rd gen motor mount position.)
It's really easy, and the hooker crossmember is excellent.
