Magnaflow 16450 Y-Pipe back in stock?
All;
Looking to replace a sorry looking Y-pipe on my '88 L98.
Older threads show the 16450 Magnaflow Y-pipe no longer being made, but Magnaflow's website, and several other sites imply this is no longer true.
Is Magnaflow making the 16450 Y-pipe again?

Re: Magnaflow 16450 Y-Pipe back in stock?
I wanted to make sure they're the real deal, so that helps a bit.
The previous owner cobbed up some sorry exhaust system--according to the casting numbers, the exhaust manifolds were actually used on a mid '70's midsize car.
I've gotten the correct l98 exhaust manifolds, but the Y-pipe will have to be replaced as well with one the proper size/shape that isn't 2" in diameter, and I've heard good things on here about the Magnaflow pipe.

I just received mine on Tuesday from Summit. They are back in stock.
I'm going to replace my low output manifolds with HO manifolds along with the Magnaflow 16450. Going in the shop on Monday so I hope all goes well. It should be a nice, effective upgrade to the tiny piping on it now.

I'd be very interested in hearing your results, since that is exactly what I'm going to be doing.

I have a set of those manifolds that I'm never going to use.
I'm in CT, so anyone else nearby looking to do the same can PM me.

I wish I knew before I bought my manifolds. I would rather have had OEM as I was pretty disappointed in the Dorman replacements "made in China". I should have expected it...I hope they hold up.
I suppose I should have posted a want ad.

Just an update for you.
My exhaust went on the car, however, not without problems. The manifold bolts broke off (4 on each side) even with heat applied and a professional mechanic doing the work.
With that said, once the manifolds were actually on, the y-pipe went up pretty nicely even without the spacer. If I remember correctly he used a larger donut gasket and did have to grind a very small bit of material off of the frame to get the final clearance.

Any notable performance changes?

Well, I was finally able to take my car out for an extended cruise over the weekend and thought I would give a little update, as requested.
Overall, the car pulls very nicely at mostly all rpm's. I say mostly because I do not like to take the rev's up all the way.I can definitely feel the difference from when the car has the L.O. manifolds, y-pipe and exhaust. In my opinion you can't go wrong with a setup such as this and it flows very nicely. I'm very pleased but then again, I am a cruiser who enjoys to get on it from time to time.

I should also mention, I did add the MAC test pipe that I had in place of my converter if that makes any difference. I just did not want to shell out any extra money at the moment for the converter.

Thanks for the info, Anthony!
I have to drive down to Georgia here in a couple of weeks, and usually stop by Summit on my way down.
