SLP headers AIR point the wrong way?
I got a set of SLP headers (Not tri-y) for speed density TPI. The fittings for the air valves point straight up. Are these the wrong headers? Seems I need the drivers side to point backwards and the pass side to point forward. I need to have these hooked up to pass visual inspection.

I'm pretty sure they came that way. You have 2 options:
1) add a 90 degree fitting and then you can point it wherever you want, or
2) if you know someone that can tig weld, make the appropriate 45 degree cut and re-weld pointing in the direction you want.
Option 2 is what I did.

Yup, that's a early set of 1 5/8s SLPs. They came with a 90* rubber hose, piece of PVC pipe and 2 plastic clamps to adapt the factory A.I.R. pipe to it.

Exactly... To make them sorta universal they dump straight up. Personally I thought all the adapters to make them hook up right looked stupid. I took mine to a welding shop and had the AIR tubes cut and welded closed. I hesitated to cut em, but in the end it made a huge difference in the cleanliness of the engine bay. It sucks if you have to have them to pass a visual inspection, but otherwise I'd chop em.

Thanks all. Guess i'll try to rig something up with some 90° hoses. No funds right now to get them welded to point the right way at a shop.
