Hooker is a Bottom of the Barrel Manufacturer in my experience - good riddance.
Honesty as horrible as both sets of hooker headers I've owned were Hooker deserved to go out of business years ago. Hookers "quality" headers for my 72 vette fit worse than cheapo Blackjack headers and the hooker had several quality issues unlike the cheapo Blackjack headers. The hooker long tube LS1 headers for my 99 TA were even worse in finish quality. Missed welds in the collector, flanges not flat, o2 bung missing one side, not tapped other side.
Kook's, Stainless Steel Works and many others make a far better product than Hooker could imagine.

No need to speculate guys, Holley/Hooker is doing just fine and not going anywhere.
That specific facility is just no longer being used for production purposes and is being turned into a distribution facility. Holley/Hooker builds headers and exhaust systems in their Bowling Green KY facility as well as using outsourced production for various applications.
Arctic White RS, the older Hooker products you had experience with share no similarities with the Hooker Blackheart products being designed/produced today; they are worlds apart.

Black heart might not be the sort of 3rd rate bottom barrel Hooker products I've experienced. I purchased the Hooker long tube for the vette in 2011 which isn't that long ago. Hooker should review what pass for quality control for their older products.
Thankfully with high quality Kooks, American Racing, DynaTech and many other choices exist so I can avoid all of Hooker's products.

I can certainly understand how your past experiences would sway your opinion as they do mine also. I'm also aware that some Hooker header designs that were executed many years ago by individuals that are long since gone don't possess the same level of fitment and assembly detail that those of us buying headers today have become used to.
There has been investment by Holley into the Hooker Hooker Comp/Supercomp lines the last two years in terms of upgrades (better collectors, laser cut flanges, flat flange port finishing), but the biggest investment overall has been in the launch and growth of the Hooker Blackheart line, which is every bit on par with products from the other brands you mentioned.
Again, I get where you're coming from as I've had similar experiences myself in the past which caused me to swear off buying particular brand products as well. We all spend our money as we feel it fits our needs best.

Coming from crap jegster headers, the hookers on my car for the past 4+ years have been 1000 times better.
I guess it depends what bottom your coming from.

Back in the day, Hooker was the absolute top-of-the-line... made Doug Thorley and Blackjack and all the rest of that low-bid crap, look like tinkertoys by comparison.
Times do change though. Customer expectations are MUCH higher these days than they were back then. The competition has upped their game while Hooker has regressed. Most of the rest of that old garbage is gone now.
If you wanna see some REAL CRAP nowadays, look at Flowtech. (ironically, also a brand acquired by Holley) The cheeeeeeeepest thing you can print the word "headers" on the box and ship USPS but not get thrown in jail for mail fraud.
