Headers w/o AIR pipes and 3" Y-pipe outlet

This question has probably been posted somewhere before but I still can't find a solid answer.

Does any header company make a set of shorty headers and Y-pipe that fits the 350 with a 3" single cat inlet AND, (here is the tricky part) does NOT have the AIR tubes and requires no welding of the Y-pipe to fit ? I can't find headers that meet those requirements anywhere except Dyno Don's and I have been unable to contact him through this web site. I don't even know if he is still in business. I don't have a welder and just want a set that I can just bolt on and go. Thanks for any input.

Lon carries DynoDon's products through his TDS site. You can also reach Lon via PM on this site (lonsal), or he may reply here as well.

Re: Headers w/o AIR pipes and 3" Y-pipe outlet

Thanks DynoDave. Yes - I did see in my searching that TDS sells the Dyno Don's headers wihout AIR tubes, but his matching Y-pipe requires fitting, welding and sending out for ceramic coating (+$200). I'm doing this in my garage at home and don't have access to a mig/tig welder or the experience to do it. I guess I could try and find a local welding shop to do the welding but I would much prefer a setup that I can just bolt on. I find it hard to believe that with all the Third Gen Camaros and Firebirds out there that somebody does not make a bolt on system without the smog AIR pipe headers.

I do, but for shipping purposes the 3" outlet has to be welded after install.

Re: Headers w/o AIR pipes and 3" Y-pipe outlet

Thank you for the update. I appreciate you getting back. I'll have to try and find a local shop to do the final welding.
Have a great day.

Re: Headers w/o AIR pipes and 3" Y-pipe outlet

Thanks for your reply.
I looked at those headers as well. The headers have a 3" dia. collector where they go into the Y-pipe, but unfortunately the matching Y-pipe is only a 2.5" dia. outlet (to the cat). I need a 3" dia. Y-pipe outlet. Maybe Hooker has one but I'm not seeing it anywhere for these headers. I know they have a 3" dia. Y-pipe that works with the 2055 headers but I don't know if that one would work with these 2460 headers. I can't get an answer from Hooker. I don't even know if they sell that 3" dia. Y-pipe separately or not.

If you have a 3" cat back on your car (like I do), how did you manage with the 2.5" dia. outlet Y-pipe?

Most people here cut off the 2.5" section and weld on a 3"

That seems to be the only solution so far. I don't have a welder so I would have to find a local shop somewhere.
Thanks.

Re: Headers w/o AIR pipes and 3" Y-pipe outlet

Go with Dyno Dons. They are way better than all the rest. He the only one that makes them with 1 3/4in tubes and the exhaust flow and construction is better than the rest. You are guaranteed to run in the mid 13’s@102-104mph in a stock L98.
