Re: Side exit

Yes it does work, I know some of the cars back in the Players series years ago had side exhaust exits.

Re: Side exit

Sketchy, nonchalantly shows the car on its side on a mattress. Inquiring minds want to know. How did they do that?

Re: Side exit

If the car is not a 4x4, routing in that fashion will provide horrible ground clearance. The players cars routed the pipes directly to the sides around the firewall area then down the pinch rail, where sfc's are usually installed to save ground clearance.

Re: Side exit

Its not worth it, I did this on my car and used moroso spiral mufflers. The exhaust hit everything, finally got sick of it and switched to a big single

Re: Side exit

Im dropping down to a 2.5 inch pipe instead of 3in im gonna try and get it *** close to the frame/body as possible and dump it out right infront of the rear wheels like on the old daytonas and superbirds

Re: Side exit

I run dual 2.5" pipes out of hedman longtubes. Mine dump right before the rear axle though, not the side. I have enough ground clearance issues with just that, I can't imagine trying to route side exits.

Re: Side exit

i plan to try something similar but with oval tubing and i might end up modifying the floor pan and pinch weld area to give me more clearance.

Re: Side exit

I know. Was just kidding.

I like these. I have them bookmarked for possible use on may van, to get under the upfitter's fiberglass running boards. The boards are too low to the ground to allow for sidepipes (which would be Plan A), so this gives my just a touch of that look, without loosing a meaningful amount of ground clearance.

Looks like someone was lazy. Like they walked into Checker Auto and asked about an exhaust pipe, muffler and tips, had to debate a moment or two about a few cases of Natty Ice or a decent exhaust, then saw the "Cherry Bomb" display for $7.99.

"One of these, and a $4.99 exhaust elbow, my good man!"

If y'all are really good, I'll tell you the one about the guy <slurred speech>"I'ma building a true dual exhaust for mah El Camino!"</slurred speech> that bought 20 foot of flexible exhaust pipe at $4 bucks a foot.

Re: Side exit

The flex pipe seems to bring out a lot of bad ideas in people.
