do any of you guys know how the tailpipes and tips affect the sound of the exhaust? now i have the 3 inch pipe into a flowmaster 80 series with stock tailpipes. i would like to weld on some 3 or 3.5 inch tips for looks and was wondering how they would affect the sound. thanx

 

Yes, tips affect sound. They give the exhaust something else to go through and reflect off of. I would go with 3" instead.

 

i have 3 inch flowmaster pipes, dosnt look good on camaros looks too small. i suggest u get a 4 inch pipe

i have the flowmaster 3in tail pipes on my car. i like the smaller 3in tail pipes rather than 3 1/2in.

 

seems to me that anything over 3.5 would look tooooo *****. trust me, not the look i'm going for here. exactly how do they affect the sound? lower, louder? tx.

 

Exactly. They will make it louder. Think, if a pipe is straight out and 3", would it be louder than the stock pipes??

I guess every1 likes different tips, but, IMO 3" look WAY better than the 4" there.
