Alternative to ARP header bolts

About to put 2055's on my '83 LG4. I've done a lot of searching, and everyone seems to recommend the ARP 100-1110 for ease of installation. They are much easier to install because they have 5/16" hex head?

Trouble is, they are not available ANYWHERE!

What would be a worthy alternative?

Thank you

Re: Alternative to ARP header bolts

Here’s what I did: thread a bolt all the way into the head to find out the threaded depth. Measure the thickness of the header flange. Hop on over to McMaster Carr and get yourself some stainless 3/8-16 socket head cap screws in whatever length you measured and enjoy having maximum thread engagement with quality stainless hardware that will last longer than the car. Bolt kits are an absolute crapshoot. How is a generic kit supposed to work with a variety of header flange thicknesses and tube clearances? If the socket cap screws are too close to a primary tube, you can (gently) put the threaded part of the bolt in a drill, and run the bolt head along a grinding wheel to reduce the diameter.

Re: Alternative to ARP header bolts

There are 12-point flange bolts intended specifically for getting sockets into tight places. The 12-point head is small enough that the socket isn't any larger than the flange.
