Actually the TPI outlet is 2 1/8", but its not that critical. The problem isnt the outlet, but just inside the outlet both manifolds are restricted down the same. So no, its not worth the hassle to replace one set of manifolds with another, and have to modify the y-pipe, as they're not the same either. Just get headers.

Into my LG4, I swapped L69 exhaust manifolds (same as the TPI manifolds but with a heat stove on the driver's side) along with the EFE valve, oval 3 inch y-pipe, cat, and intermediate pipe (my after market was 2 1/2, the stock L69 2 3/4). I bought the whole shebang for $68. Great mod on the cheap. Got pics of the y-pipe and intermediate pipe, should anyone be interested.
