ok here is what I have heard from ppl on the RX-7 forums about the pacesetter
there have been problems with them fitting right to start with

they rust really easy

they will deform

the flange is way too thin and ppl have had problems with that

they sound like crap due to the thin cheap metal

let me just say you get what you pay for and you buy something cheap like this well... you get the idea

I assume you're talking about the ones from JC Whitney. They are available coated.

I don't know anyone who's actually gotten them, but I do know they are listed as having 1-1/2" primaries. If that's ID, they're the same size as my Hookers. I tried to find out what size the connection to the cat is, from both JCW & Pacesetter, with no success.

I put a set of Pacesetter turbo mufflers on the '57 in 1991. Today they're living on a '68 Camaro with 327 4-speed belonging to a fellow racer at Bandimere. Not all their stuff is junk (even Summit carries a few of their products), and basing your assessment of them on the experiences of some RX7 owners is not at all fair.

that is where the majority of it comes from and it's not from just a few of them though, every single one who tried there header had problems with it. the muffs I haven't heard too many problems with. just the headers.

though also admit the rotary also prolly will put a lot more stress on the exhaust then a piston motor so that could also be cause for the problems with how they deform. so for my car I would never buy the headers, muffs maybe but not the headers.

Pacesetters

I know a guy that has these on his 3rd gen. They are pretty poor quality. As was already brought up, they're thin, flange is too thin, they warp/rust. I'd buy the generic Summit ones before Pacesetters.

The only place that i have heard about them is on neons and they don't seem to have a good reputation. However, if you are getting them for nearly free, use them till they are toast then get something better (so long as you don't mind changing the headers more than once in a car's lifetime). Who knows, maybe the ones you get will be the exception.

Sorry to say that I bought some a year ago. They are junk quality. they didnt fit .When I finally got them on the motor the y pipe was going to hit my oil pan by about 1/2".I had to ding in the tube to get it to fit by the heater box because it actually rubbed, so I couldn't even send them back when I found out that the y-pipe didn't fit.The flanges were warped to start with,I should have sent them back then before trying to install.
I threw them away and bought Hookers, wich by the way dropped right in and cleared everything.
BOTTEM LINE,YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
