O2 sensor bung and A.I.R.
For headers without these things on them, it IS mandatory for the O2 bung so u canslip the O2 sensor on correct? Otherwise the ride will be really boggy and slow? Ok now the A.I.R. tubes, what if I leave those off and not connected to teh headers?

slp offers both the bung and the a.i.r. tubes separately in the newest catalog (got it last week) the separate exhaust parts are in the "street rod" section. stainless though with the related attachment concerns. i think hedman and hooker have similar in mild steel.with the opportunity you have now a good idea is to switch to a heated o2 and install it where it can sample the gasses from all 8 cylinders-i put mine in about 8-12 inches in front of the converter flange-horizontal and on the inboard side of the pipe

I left my A.I.R. Tubes disconnected and no problems so far. I also did away with the rest of my pollution stuff; probably not a good idea if your state has emission laws. I put my O2 sensor right on top of the collector on the full-length headers, but had to move it to the inside of the collector when I switched to a T5. I looked everywhere for something with 18mm fine thread so I wouldn't have the pay the $13 to buy the bung from Jegs, and I ended up finding the bung from some guy around where I live. Dont try to look for a nut with 18mm fine thread to use; I'm convinced they dont exist.

The point of the AIR tubes and the AIR pump as I understand it is to inject clean air into the exhaust to dilute the exhaust so that pollution such as carbon monoxide falls under a certain level in parts per million (ppm). As I said, I've taken mine off and had no problems so far, however, I dont have to pass any emissions testing.

Depends; if they do a visual and no AIR tubes, no pass. If no visual, or you have the tubes but not connected, you should pass fine. They don't do (as far as I know) cold start check.
