Cat-back?

I currently have just a flowmaster 80 series muffler 3" in/ 2.5" dual out and its kind of loud but i want something louder and more aggressive and i also want better flow so im looking at getting a cat-back (headers to come a bit later) but i dont know which one to get so if you guys can give your input that will help me decide. Thanks

The Random Tech is awesome, sound and performance. It is not as restrictive as the Flowmaster. I wouldn't get the Random Tech cat however. I have a CarSound Cat. They dyno better that the RT and they cost alot less. I got mine for $60.

Don't buy Hooker it sucks! Ok, it'd suck hearing another camaro sounding like mine!

Or should i just go to my local exhaust shop and have them put 3" madrel pipe all around with 3.5" tips and still use my existing muffler.

Get the dynomax 3" pipe or better yet have the muffler shop order the flowmaster 3" pipe to go to your muffler. Maybe he get get the other pipes too.

When you first install the Hooker cat-back its extremely quiet. They say that its not supposed to change sound but mine got MUCH louder and better sounding over time.

A stainless steel Borla system, of course!!! I don't have one, but it's what I'd get if I didn't like the sound of Flowmaster so much.

Borla is probably the highest quality but I don't think it sounds all that great on third-gens. It sounds real nice on newer camaros.

I just put on the SLP 2 on the left cat-back yesterday. The Sound is great, a little on the quit side, but a nice deep rich sound. The only problem installing it was that the pipe that slips onto the dual cat Y was about an 1" too long. Nothing a hack saw couldn't fix. It works out great on my 91 B4C, I wen to the local cruising strip last night and everyone thought I had a V6 until I did a burn out. Then they all new better.

$%#$&*@%&!!!!!

I'm just gonna say that the reason there are 3 votes for random tech is that there are only three people here with it on their cars. In my opinion...

SLP is nice cause it's stainless and it flows well, but I wouldn't want people thinking my car was a V6!

Flowmaster is alright if you get the system with duel 3" tips (not all american thunders do). And a lot of people dont like the flowmaster sound.

Hooker is Ok too, but I don't like the way it looks, I'd have to see it on a third gen before I bought it.

Borla is just too damn expensive.

I went Random Tech. Looks great, sounds great.

Just my opinion. -Brian

Real happy with the sound of my Flowmaster American Thunder System. With 3" cat and headers it's pretty loud, but sounds great.

How much time are we talkin? I just got mine put on. It sounds VERY nice and tight, and pretty nice at WOT, but has a pretty quiet idle. I have to say, the quality of the Hooker cat back is awsome!

These are not the best pics of the system, but here:

Here is what it sounds like (kinda distorted....):
