Which headers provide the most plug clearance???
I currently have SLP 1 3/4 headers with my Edelbrock RPM heads. They do not clear the plugs at all. Which headers provide the most clearance? Hooker LT's , Hooker shorty's, MAC's, Edelbrock's......... I've heard the old SLP Tri-Y's have a ton of plug clearance. Oh, and if anyone is interested in a trade, I have a set of SLP 1 3/4 headers for dual cat cars. I have the install kit and the y-pipe as well. It's nice stuff but it's now useless to me.

Do the Edelbrocks have angled plugs? How bad is the clearance? Do the plugs touch the pipes?
The Edelbrock TES have good clearance on my Trickflow heads, the have angle plugs. I do have to use a open end plug socket and/or a boxed wrench to reach some of them. The plugs boots are a good ways from the pipes, no problems with burning.
I wounder if the SLPs would work on Trickflow heads?

Yes, my Edelbrocks have angled plugs. When installed their is no clearance, the #8 plug sits right on the header tube. I don't know if the SLP's would clear your plugs or not.
