Fourth Gen Exhaust Tips

I checked the archives, but don't quite understand what is required (ok, so I'm a bit thick) for the installation of the retangular Z28 tips. Run me through it. Anyone with pics?

Thanks,

JamesC

I don't quite get it... seems to me you just need to clamp them on, or weld, whichever you prefer(welding for me, clamps look UGLY). BUT, you have to make sure they are the same size as your current tailpipes, if they aren't, some creativity will be needed. I've seen some nice polished stainless steel 4th gen Z28 tips(Those flat/rectangle ones) that look really nice, but they are 2 1/2 inch, and my tailpipes are 3...

my buddy just bought a 89 t/a. 305 TBI car, w/WS6 and aero package. it has 43,000 miles on it. it is the nicest 3rd gen car i have ever seen in my life. the thing is beautiful. Its white with grey interior. he put a 80 series flow on it with new z28 tips and it looks very very good. the tips go well with the shape of the rear of the car, i will try to get some pics on here this weekend.

What are you welding to? Are you using the stock exhaust pipes (the pipes that exit the muffler)? New pipes? Or are you using the Z28 exit pipes and welding the tips to them.

the guy at the muffler shop ran 2.5 in tail pipes and then welded the z28 tips to them and tucked them under the rear bumber.
