True duals in to one muffler, goo or bad?

I have true 2.5in duals on my 89 GTA and I want a different sound. Hooker offers the Aerochamber muffler with dual 2.5in inlet and single 3in outlet, would this work like an X or H pipe or would it hurt my performance? Would this sound like the Hooker catback? Thanks

you would be best off going with an X-pipe

this setup you are talking about here would not really work that great as a x-pipe setup

though as far as placement for the x-pipe if you are to put one on your car is dependent of what RPM's you want to get the best scavaging at

though as a starting point you can take the distance from your exhaust port and then take that same distance from the collector and put your x-pipe there

in theory I think that should give you a good reversion low pressure wave for the exhaust gas to flow from the exhaust valve out of and reduce the restriction

if you dont understand this I am sorry I am half passed out at the moment and I hopoe someone else can go further into what I am trying to say
