Go with 1 5/8's no matter what the brand. Why?? 1 3/4's would be way too much. SLP is the best, but if your not looking to spend alot, there are others that are OK.

Yep, especially if you're not going to highly mod the 305 SLP is kind of overpriced for your needs.

I'm looking at the hooker 2055's .. but they aren't exactly cheap. $300++ without a coating.

will I loose HP if I use 1 3/4 instead of 1 5/8. I always thought bigger is better. And here's what I plan to add on my Modification.

MSD Ignition 6AL
Cams
Better gears..
and May be some after market chips...

Thanks....

1 5/8 man. Yes, the 1 3/4 will kill your low end torque.

along the same line, If I went with the 1 5/8", regardless of brand, but I have intentions of replacing the L03 with a 300hp 350lbft 350, how bad will the 1 5/8" restrict me, if at all? It will be a daily driver, and very rarely raced, other than your occasional mustang or trying to suprise an LT1 camaro at a red light.

Car: yy wife, crazy.
Engine: 350, Vortecs, 650DP
Transmission: TH-350
Axle/Gears: 8.5", 3.42
1 5/8" primaries (whether long or short) are good for up to 375-400 HP.

The nice thing about them is how versatile they are. They don't kill the low end from lack of scavenging, and they're big enough to flow 375 HP.

I think it'll be OK, but u would benefit more from 1 3/4's. The 1 5/8's are better than stock manifolds though.

No worries bro, you can sell me the 1 5/8's later on when you go larger. I'm perfectly happy with my 305tpi but it could use some headers. Let me know. (I'm serious).
