That's the installation kit I'm using for my 30003 headers. If noone else tells you what's in the installation kit by the time I get home from work, I'll copy the parts list to this post.

As for payment, it will be just like you were ordering something from Spohn Performance, so it's whatever methods they accept. I'll see if I can dig up the details on ordering.

Since Steve is shipping via FedEx, I wouldn't imagine there being a problem getting them to canada. I don't know how much 415 would be in canada. Try emailing Steve Spohn for a definitive answer. Let me know when you're ready to be added to the list.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, for some reason the board quit emailing me about new posts.

I only have time to make this swap in mid-may, so if this doesn't go through by April 30, I'm gonna have to order seperately. I really don't want to have to do that, it'd be a waste of about $85.

Oh come on, this is ridiculous. If we don't have enough people by the end of April, I'm ordering on my own, and I have a feeling several others will too. Now is the time to join this group purchase, I know some of you out there are just waiting to see how long you can stretch it out.

What about the adapter for the Y-pipe to cat for single 3" cat people (30038)? Is that included on this GP? If so, what is the price on that piece?

Thanks,
Matt

I really have no business spending more money, but if the deal gets good enough..............

I don't know if you can get it through the group purchase, but I do know that Summit sells 30038 for $31.69.

$31.69 + $7.45 (handling) = $39.14

For reference, the SLP list price is $34.98 + $8.95 (est. shipping) = $43.93

I plan on getting one from Summit, there are a few other parts I need from there as well.

I was thinking about getting the 30005 headers but I only save $15. I can get em for 399.95 direct from SLP and it's $385 here. Doesn't seem like much of a deal. If I decided to get 30001 (which I might do) I will defintely get them here. For now put me down for a 30005, no installation kit. I'll let you guys know If I find better a better price than $385 or I decide the 15 bucks isn't worth the wait.

Don't forget about shipping, SLP wants $40 but Steve says he can ship them for $12-$25. So that'd be $15 + $15-$28 = $30-$43.

I compiled a list of questions that have been asked and emailed Steve. Here are the answers:

For methods of payment, Steve will accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. However, in a group purchase he will not accept money orders or COD's.

He will ship to Canada.

Cat adapters can be acquired through the group purchase, but there is no discount (you'd still save on shipping though).

Q: Can other parts besides headers be acquired through the group purchase?
A: "Only if they fall into the header category. SLP pricing goes by categories. So, in other words, if someone needed some 4thgen headers, yes they can get in on it. If someone wants a cat-back, or shocks, etc. they can't because it's a different product category. If they have 6+ orders in that SLP category, we can do GP pricing on anything requested."

alright......

i'm in for 30002 + 30024

I believe that makes the magic six orders. If I could get the 30102 plug socket at the same time, that'd be handy.

Awesome!

It looks like the spark plug socket falls under the header category, and it sounds like a pretty good idea.

I will email Steve to be sure the ordering instructions are the same and he's ready for it and everything (and that the socket can be obtained). While I'm waiting for a reply, anyone who needs to make changes or wants to join in or drop out needs to do so. If all goes well, we can order tomorrow.

Sorry to do this so late but I didnt know this GP was actually going to reach 6. (within any time soon anyway)

Well that's 2,384.80 since difinitive1 dropped. Add the socket for me too. That makes it 2,404.75. Come on guys, one more. Let's get the magic 2,500.00. This is a good deal, I can wait a little longer. Hell I've waited ten years to get them what's a few more days, weeks, etc.

Wait a minute..... If the GP pricing is good for the entire header catagory, the cat adapter should be covered by GP pricing since it is in that catagory (labeled as header/installation kits on their site). I'm getting very tempted but I have a strict budget to follow.... so sorry if the questions seem a little over the top. And if you buy headers and an adapter, what is the shipping going to be? As in, we won't have to pay the sum of what shipping would be on headers and an adapter when they are being shipped together and likely in one box making the weight of the single shipment only slightly higher. I would be after the 30005s with the 30038 adapter btw.....

Thanks,
Matt

He hasn't yet replied to the email I sent today, but in his last email, Steve said things were pretty crazy and that he's been super busy.

I suppose you can look at the cat adapter situation this way: The group purchase pricing does cover the cat adapter, it's just the same price as it normally is, with a discount of $0.00. Sucks, but that's the way it is.

Hey guys I may get in on this. But a ? first.Do you really need to coat a stainless header?I had a SLP Y-pipe on my old 86 IROC and put many miles on it with it barely changing colors.I'm sure the headers will get hotter but is the coating just to keep under hood temps down or what?

That, and it looks really nice. It's more of a want than a need, although I consider heat a problem on my car.

hey 92blkl98,

i assume you have the twin cat exhaust, and the twin "direct fit" random tech cats? How do you like them? notice any differences when you replaced the stockers with them?

And for everyone else who thinks they want some SLP headers...get in on this GP! It's basically 20% off.....

Yes it is a dual cat car. The car seems to be more responsive and it sounded a little better, more of a growl. I just wish the guys who installed them had taken more pride in their work. The welds looked kind of shoddy, and they didn't get the system straight in the car but I plan to do my own work with the headers so I will correct their poor workmanship. Needless to say they won't see my car again. This is a pretty good deal but I can see patience isn't in too much supply with some folks. No flame but we could have had ten folks if they had waited till the 30th.

What type of ceramic coating comes with the SLP headers? Are they Jet-Hot? Does anybody know how durable/attractive it is. If its high quality, count me in.

I have not seen the coatings personnaly but everyone I've talked to says good things about SLP's coatings. How close are we to this GP? Last I checked we only needed one more person.

30002 is 1 5/8 headers for two cat WITH air. 30024 is correct install kit. If you want the 1 3/4 headers, you need to order 30003. Please confirm your part numbers at www.slponline.com

Im in for the GP. I just don't know if I should get 1 5/8 or 1 3/4. Wouldn't the 1 3/4 just be overkill on the 3in catback? So count me in on 30004 or 30005. Also, these have a threaded o2 hole correct?

plant protection .....

SLP recommends 1 5/8 for 305, 1 3/4 for 350. I am getting the 1 5/8 for my 350 because they seem to have less clearance / fitment issues. Traxion has run in the low 12's with 1 5/8 headers (but by his own admission, they were holding him up). The choice is yours. SLP will tell you to go 1 3/4.

Check out their web site, www.slponline.com for pictures. They are 50-state legal and nobody has said that they don't have o2 holes, so they must have them.

I emailed Steve two weeks ago and he never answered, so I dunno. Try emailing him or calling him or something. The only real person in charge is Steve Spohn.

My 30001's have a threaded hole for an O2 sensor. Nobody was kidding when they said these headers were a PITA to install.

So what will my grand total be with the GP discount? If $385 is the best price for 30005 then they are cheaper from Third Gen Resource going for $379 without a GP.

Not sure but if you want to get a set of headers it's not too late and I'm sure no one would mind
