Time For A New Exhaust

Okay people i know this isn't 3gen but here it goes. I picked up a 76 Firebird Formula.(PIcture at bottom) It needs a new exhaust. I need sugestions on what muffler will be loud and sound pretty good. I want to try to stay away from Flowmasters, I don't like them. Here and the specs for the motor so you can help me decide. right now it has a rusted out 2.50" true dual system.

Pontiac 400 c.i. Engine
Bored 0.30 over.
Lunati Cam 458" lift 218" duration @ .050
New Crank, Rods, and PistonsPontiac 6X heads
Flowtech Afterburnner headers.

I need something thats not going to break the bank.

Thanks,
Robert:hail: :hail:

Oh Yeah it dosen't need to run Cats it Emmision Exempt

we put hooker aerochambers on my buddies 88 GT 5.0 since everyone and their mother has flowmasters on there. Sounds great. Not as loud as flowmasters at idle but loud and ripping when he gets on it.

I was thinking go with dynomax they seem to sound good, but there not that loud. I don't like the tinny sound of flowmasters. I don't know has anyone have a sound file of dynomax mufflers on there car??

I thought you guys would be really happy to help me with getting an exhaust you for Formula. I can make the wildest dreams come true, I don't have to run CATS and the exhaust can be loud as I can get it. Come on guys give me more ideas.

All hail Exhaust Guys.

you're probably not gonna like this, but me and my friend put a flowmaster force 2 cat back system on his 76 camaro. wow. this thing sounds nasty! it has 2, 2 1/2 inch intermediates with a 2 inch equilizer going to 1 muffler with dual 2 1/2 inch out. we put headers on at the same time so that may have added to the sound, but this car sounds sooooo good. one of the best ive ever heard. plus, it improved accleleration greatly, it was like a new car!
