will it be too loud...

this may be a stupid question. i was just wondering if it would be extremely too loud if i ran straight pipes without any mufflers what so ever. i think it will be but it would save lots on cash.

i was also thinking about glass-packs,

well, if you got time reply.

You would probably run afoul of your local noise ordinance. I have true duals with glasspacks, and they are loud. Not that bad when just crusin' at speed limit or a little over, but with extreme acceleration, or at 90mph+, all you can hear is exhaust.

What kind of engine is it, and is it modified?

JODY K,

IMO....straight pipes with now mufflers sound HORRIFIC!

It wont be THAT loud, but gawd i hate the sound. They "snap" at high RPM's

You should think about that.

its just a 305, nothing special.

as soon as summer gets here i plan on dropping it in there, my last 305 had a rod knocking so i pulled it out. now i have a friend doing a half a** rebuild on another 305. up size cam new rods and etc.

looking forward to working on it though, just trying to get details planned out.

I ran my 305 tbi ( that wimpy little thing) to the muffler shop one time without the muffler hooked up. I needed to get a custom y pipe because I put in headers, and drove the car without any y pipe. to be honest with you, it sounded like a monster truck during acceleration, but it wasn't very loud at cruising speed.

i ran open headers for 2 days and it was loud. when ever i got on it the whole car would shake the seat would shake it was really awsome, but i did not like the sound. at idle it sounded sweet and like it had a huge cam.
