i know jegs sells a three inch catback system becuz i have it on my car, its a pain in the butt to put in though, you have to lower the rearend to install the intermediate pipe. it sounds good, but i might recomend the hooker catback if you install it urself becuz the intermediate pipe is in two pieces which would make it a hell of alot easier to install

I also have the 3" dynomax system and it is a pain to get over the rea axle. But I just want to say, you don't have to drop the rear to get it in. All I did was take that heat shield type thing off that goes around the gas tank, four screws and its off, then you can force the pipe over the axle, it does work, I've done it. Sorry, I don't know the part #, I got mine from Summitt for $160.

"Specifications:
* This is a 2 1/2 in. single exhaust system with dual tailpipes.
* For vehicles with an engine code F and code 8."

last time I checked there was no longer a 3" dynomax catback. for thridgens. Which means there is no 1 part number for a 3" kit. They DO however still make all the pieces if you get all the part numbers together. The numbers for the 3" I pipe are (PN 44063 and 43248). Just add part numbers for the muffler and two 2.5" tailpipes and you're good to go.

Napa has the 3" dynomax stuff you can purchase the whole kit or in pieces. I think you can only get the 3" system with the two on the left muffler though.

What kind of power gains are expected from the dynomax system?? I want to get it because I have heard that it sounds good and it is only $160(and right now they have a $25 rebate) but does it help with the power or is it worth spending more money to get something else??

Thanks Brian

It will be worth as much power as any 3" cat-back. I'd say it is good for about 5-10 hp. You can feel the difference at full throttle. it isn't a huge sotp difference, but you can feel it. A Flowmaster system for instance would not make any more power than a Dynomax system.

I think it was CHP that did a dyno test on a 91 RS 305 TBI car bone stock. They installed a 3" Dynomax cat-back and picked up 10 RWH.
