what are some good long tube headers for 3rd gens?
i want some longtube headers for my 91, what companies out there make coated longtube ones that fit 3rd gens? what is eveyone run'n, need some advice, gonna buy some soon.

The part number for the Hooker longtubes is 2210. $385.95 at Summit. The coated ones are $579.95. Here's the part number at summit:
Uncoated- 520-2210
Coated- 520-2210-1
The main clearance problem with the hooker on a manual tranny is the slave cylinder. You should be able to move the bracket, or you can bend the headers a little. As for the hedman's I'm not sure, but on their site it says something about "floorboard modifications".

I have the Hooker Long Tubes and you don't need to modify anything to get 'em in. No floorboard modification. They fit great and they don't have trouble on T-5 cars cuz I helped put a set on in a T5 car. They're NOT emmissions legal headers though, and you will have to make your own exhaust system (at least the Y-pipe) to complete the exhaust. But these pretty much are the best long tube headers out for thirdgens and I love the sound I get with these bad boys :-).
cool, so for the y-pipe no one sells one that will work? u just custom bent ur own tubing or what? since they aren't emissions legal then they don't have an sensors on em do they, so what do u do about the sensors that were hooked up?

How bout SLP? I heard they were the best for thirdgens. I was thinking of Hooker or Hedman. Hooker cuz I've heard they're good. Hedman cuz theyre cheap, and seem to fit, due to there shorty style. I personally don't wanna spend any more than 400 dollars on the headers themselves, anything more is insane! Even though my rich friends, buy 600 dollar catback exhausts, not even the headers!!

My exhaust system is completely custom, nothing store bought. I had bought the sections of pipe needed, welded where I needed to weld, and ran it where it looks almost stock again. My ground clearance isn't an issue, but I have a moddeds rear suspension and k-member that hange lower than the exhaust...So my exhaust will be the last thing to scrape lol. Otherwise I don't think the ground clearance would be too bad. If you do your own custom exhaust, you should be able to figure out how to run it effectively where it won't touch the ground on a bump.
