Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
$1400 FIRM for the set of 4 wheels, with custom WS6 center caps. I'm not interested in selling them for any less.
Wheels are in excellent but used condition. Each year, I apply two coats of wax, front and back, so that dirt, brake dust etc. does not stick or get deep into the metal. As you can see in the pic, they have some light scratches from normal use. They look excellent, and the scratches could be buffed out if someone found them bothersome. To me, they were a non-issue and hard to see unless looking for them. These pics can be considered placeholders, until I pull the wheels from my barn and give them a quick cleaning for pictures out in the sun. Tires are probably at the end of their lives, but might have one more season in them. I have not measured the tread.
Spring is here, give your car an immediate and distinct upgrade. I could not wait each year to remove my 16" Formula wheels and put these on...totally changed the look of the vehicle.
Spacers for the front wheels included, to avoid hitting your tie rod at full lock.
Thanks for looking. You can check the feedback section here for recent information about me as a seller. NO BS, just honesty.

More importantly than the wheels, thanks for what you have done, and I hope for your continued safety as you make your way home.
I'll also mention here that the wheels include the proper lug nuts and the 'keyed" bolts and key for the center caps.

Once per week, this will get bumped. Eventually, I will add new pics. That process can be quickened if there is a serious buyer.

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
Those are beautiful wheels, how good are the tires that are on them? Any curb rash? I just got my newest project sans wheels and would like to invest my money in some I actually want, and since mine is a WS6 I really like these.

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
Thank you for your inquiry.
As I recall, none of the wheels have any curb rash b/c I was careful about curbs, given the fact that I loved these wheels on my car and did not want to mess them up. Of course, I can check carefully and take pics of each wheel to be sure for any potential buyer. Pulling them all out of my barn, taking the time to clean and wax and photograph them is time consuming. So, I have not done it yet. If someone seems to be seriously interested, I will become more motivated to get some good pics here.
At any rate, if my memory is accurate, then each of the four wheels looks like the one above, as far as condition goes. You can see light scuffs and scratches consistent with being used wheels, which they are! But, they have been lovingly used and looked great on my car, as far as I am concerned. I imagine they would look great on any Bird!
As I stated in my original post, the tires are nearing the end of their lives, as far as I can tell. I do not even own a tread depth gauge to be able to give you a specific assessment of wear. I had them on the car for three summers, and each summer the car probably accrued an additional 2-3k miles of driving. I have no idea how many miles are on the tires, as they were on the wheels when I bought them. I believe that you MIGHT be able to get another summer of use out of them, but that is my opinion only. New tires will have to be in your future.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. If you could realistically assess your level of interest, it would be helpful to me. And, as I said, you can check the feedback section to find some recent feedback regarding me as a seller, from when I sold my '92 Formula. You'll get no BS from me, and that is what I expect as well.

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
I found another toy that I'd like to pick up. Therefore, if anyone wants to move on these quickly and make a serious and competitive offer, I'm listening. But if the toy I am looking at sells, then I'll go back to sitting on these and waiting until I get my price.
Thank you.
Thank you.

The previous owner had them made. I don't know how, but I might have a PM buried in my inbox where he described what he did. I'll have to look.

Cleaned them up and took some pics. They'd look even more awesome with a careful detailing/polishing followed by some good wax.

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
Yes sir, the tires are included. In fact, I think they help protect the wheels during shipping...that's how I received them originally. I would just place circular cardboard over the faces of each wheel, wrap the wheel/tire combo in that shipping saran-wrap stuff, and have UPS pick them up.
I weighed them a couple weeks ago, but forgot how much each wheel/tire is. Please let me do that tomorrow and get a UPS quote for you.
Thanks for your interest.

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
I was editing my post because I missed that tires are included. $2000 with or without the tires? Alot cheaper to ship them in 2 boxes without the tires than 4 wheel and tires.
As you said the tires are at the end of their life so why pay extra for shipping?

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
Valid qestion.
If I still owned my '92, I would run these wheels with the tires for one more season. So, in my opinion, they are worth including because of my perception that they could be run from now until October, when they would be replaced by winter wheels or the car would come off the road.
The other issue I have is that these wheels are in awesome condition. I have this fear that the tire center guys, many of whome don't give a crap about being careful, will scratch a wheel/the wheels in dismounting the tires. That would suck. I'd prefer that the buyer deal with that process.
So, that is my thinking. Besides, you might just be browsing, in which case I'd remove the tires to get a shipping cost for wheels only, you decide to pass, then some other dude says he would have wanted the whole combo!
It's late and I am rambling. Back to calculating student grades...school year almost over!

I'm in the market for R15s but I'm looking around 1st before I commit to buy. I'm sure you do the same thing especially when you are looking in the $1500-$2500 dollar range via the internet also.

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
Just an idea.
BTW, I was not questioning your sincerity in intending to purchase a set of Ronals, just pointing out that if I tailor this package to your tastes, then you decide to pass, I'll have thrown out the tires for no reason, that's all.

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
Indeed I do!
I'm not rushing to grab the camera, so don't worry. But, my thinking was that such a thing might benefit you BEFORE you commit to buying them. Doesn't make much sense to commit, then ask to see video footage that might change your mind, you know?
At any rate, good luck in your search, wherever you end up finding "your" set of wheels. Just let me know if I can be of further help.

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
I've never owned a set of these so bear with me.
Do you need special lugnuts with these?
Are the spacer different than the ones found on stock GM wheels.
The spacers are just need for the fronts?
Will these rims work with 1LE front brakes, Vette or aftermarket front brakes?

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
I can answer a few of those questions, others I do not know.
The lugnuts for the front wheels are deeper than standard. My set of wheels includes all lugs.
I don't know about the spacer size compared to stock. IN fact, I did not know stock wheels had spacers. My Formula wheels did not use spacers. But yes, with the Ronals you just need them in the front. I have the spacer size written somewhere in a long-ago buried PM if you need me to find it. The two spacers are included with my wheels.
The Firehawks that these wheels were designed for use Brembo brakes, which I believe had 13" discs and 1LE spindles, so larger than stock brake sizes should not be a problem. That's the extent of my knowledge in that area, though.
Hope that helped.

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
Could you post some pics of the spacers and the lugs?
I believe aluminum drums used a spacer(shim) when using crosslace wheels so you could rotate the wheels from front to back. I have a few sets from cars I've parted out. They are only about 1/8" thick.

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
I adhered the spacers to the back of the front wheels using some black Permatex sealant...kept them in place when fitting the wheel. So, I don't have pics of them separate, but in this shot you can see the spacer.
As for the lugs, I will have to line them up and snap a pic. I'm trying to finish laying a hardwood floor in a nursery right now, but can try to get the pic tonight.

no rear spacers are needed just the ones ronal made for the front for non-1le aplications..so if your car is a 1le then none are needed..

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
TPI-HEARSE, I have parted out over 15 cars and found the 1/8" spacers on all different years of 3rd gens. None of them are 1LE cars. What is the purpose of these spacers on non-1LE cars or cars without Ronals on them?

16" rims it was to bring the wheels out 1/8 inch due to the disc brake cars rears are 1/8 inch wider thats all, they are not even needed for the 16" rims but I guess the wanted the cars rear wheels to look even

I actually have no clue. I never did any of that kind of research prior to buying them. I knew that I could get the spacers and just bolt them onto my car and go, so that's what I did!

the spacer was to keep the aluminum wheel from bonding metallically to the iron drum.
thats about it.

Bull, it looks like I found the offset which is said to be 10mm inward which I take it to be -10mm. Could you measure the back spacing for me? I don't know if you know how to do it so don't be offended by me telling you how.
On the back side of the rim(not the tire) put a straight edge across the lip of the rim and with a ruler-scale measure from the straight edge to the flat surface of the rim where it would mate with the rotor or drum minus the spacer you have on rims.
If I don't buy them from you we have covered dam near every question someone could ask about them. LOL

Yep, I can measure that for you (I've seen it done in Car Craft but thanks for the refresher) as soon as I get a spare moment. Of course, I realize that the only reason for collecting this data is so you can consider other, non-Ronal rims! But, that's the kind of guy I am

Hi Bull! Dokken, I have a set of these and they are bad a$% on a third gen. I get so much attention from them. Bull has been here for a long time and a very reliable person. Good luck to you guys, These are the ultimate thirdgen rim in my opinion.

Andy, nice to hear from you my friend, and thank you for the kind words I hope all is well with you these days.
I agree with you that these are the ultimate thirdgen Bird wheel. I'd never want to run anything else if I had another Bird. But, not everyone feels that way and I understand Dokken wanting to browse around.
I had quite a few people over the years ask me what the wheels were when I was out running errands or cruising around. They just stand out.

I try to live my life by the Golden rule and I sure which a lot more people would do the same.
I do appreciate the help a lot. I have to weigh my option before I spend at least double what other new rims would cost. I'm sure you can understand that.

Re: Ronal R-15 Firehawk Wheels for Sale
In my search for new wheels these are #1 in my opinion.
I guess I can understand Ronal closing down the US branch but why not make them in Germany(where I believe they are) and ship the R15s to the US.
