Firebird headlight support bracket

The plastic piece that is bolted to the car and that the headlight bucket mounts too. One of the mounts for the headlight bucket broke. Passenger side. I don't need the headlight bucket.

Re: Firebird headlight support bracket

Can't be plastic cause I had one break like that many years ago and I had it welded.

Wow do I feel like a moron. I guess just cause it was painted black like all the plastics under there I assumed.... but you are right it is in fact aluminum! Good news is that my brother in law is a welder and will do it for me as a favor.

Re: Firebird headlight support bracket

You know, I finally got around to getting my brother-in-law that bracket and he said that once he scraped some of the paint off to weld it he found out it was not aluminum, but a cheap pot-metal which he says he can't weld. Looks like I am back to needing this part or will have to use some high-strength adhesive.

Re: Firebird headlight support bracket

go to another welder because mine broke there and they welded it without a problem.

Re: Firebird headlight support bracket

I have the driver and passenger headlights and the whole assemblies out of my '87 Trans Am. If I can help, I will send a pic to make sure it is what you need and we can make a deal. Just let me know!
