Z20 Sport Appearance Package Spoiler
Re: Z20 Sport Appearance Package Spoiler
Someone is working on reproducing the Firebird Z20 spoiler or making a better version of it. I think I read about it in the Fabrication board. Trying to find a spoiler that was only available on 600 firebirds will not be easy. If anyone wants a Camaro Z20 spoiler though, the low-high rise, I have one of those.

Re: Z20 Sport Appearance Package Spoiler
I have one of the spoilers, but not the spats. I looked for it for years, and I've never seen another one for sale since.
A couple of years back, I decided I wasn't going to use it on my car. I chased Hawk's for awhile to see if they wanted to buy it so they could reproduce it to sell. They make the tall Camaro "blade" spoiler, so i thought it would be a perfect fit. Never got any interest from them.
I'd still like to see someone do that. Those spoilers would fit Camaros as well, and since so few are out there, you wouldn't get a lot of "Ain't that a Fahrburd spoiler you got on that there Cuhmarah?" comments.
BTW, there's a whole car for sale right now on Craigslist: http://longisland.craigslist.org/cto/1496166126.html
I about fell out of my chair whe I saw it. I got interested in this package back in 2003, and set up daily autosearches for it. I found my spoiler in 2004 but have never seen another one for sale, and this is the first whole car I've ever seen.

Re: Z20 Sport Appearance Package Spoiler
I've been thinking about that; someone asked me about it earlier.
What I would prefer to do is to sell it to someone who would produce it. That way, more than one person would be able to get it. The guy who i bought mine from had put bondo on it to fill some minor stress cracks in the gel coat and didn't smooth it out before it hardened. It's going to take some work to get it right, but that would be no big deal to someone who regularly deals with fiberglass production, mold making, etc.
Someone posted in another thread that they had one, but it was made like the wraparound spoilers; foam with a covering. he said his was separating. My spoiler is fiberglass.
I'd really like to find someoen who knows the people at the top at Hawk's. I've got a feeling the guy I was talking to was pretty low in the chain of command. If Hawks bought it from me, the biggest and best supplier of Third gen parts would soon be selling them, and judging from the quality of that 5" blade spoiler, they'd be high-quality parts.
Does anybody know the owner of Hawk's?

make your shaker functional with a flap, but use a vacuum actuator instead of an electrical one. Watching that flap open and close as i mashed on the gas was my favorite thing about my 72 Tranny
