All bent by hand, with leverage. I found various holes in the heavy machinery at work...... openings big enough to stick the end of the bar inside, and I just pulled sideways till I got the desired shape. Kind of like, if you were going to stick a broomstick inside the end of your tailpipe and pull sideways, for a visual reference. Except I was inserting the steel inside similar openings in machinery that weighs 50 tons, and the hollow steel bent quite easliy with the compounding of leverage. Took maybe 20 mins of trial and error bending and test fitting in the engine bay, then grinding the ends to match the angle of the shock towers. Another 45 mins fabbing the mounting plates, drilling, radiusing, welding and bolting.

In hindsight, it would have been simpler to just mail out a hundred dollar check and have a pre-fabbed one delivered to my door. But there's a sense of pride and accomplishment I get whenever I open the hood and look inside that would not be there otherwise. Creating stuff from scratch is satisfying, I recommend making things, vs. buying things whenever possible!

What is the height difference from the mounting plate to the center of the brace? I have TBI with TPI CAI. I'm wondering if the bar would clear the stock TPI duct I used and still fit under the hood.

any of you guys with the square tubing for stb ever consider drilling them out to shave some weight. Like 1/2" holes every like 3 inches on all sides would cut down the weight and still have its rigidity and I think it would give it a badass look. just my opinion.
