tig is not stick welding tig welding you use a tungsten electrod to strike up a arc ant then you have a inert gas to sheild the pool. stick you have a electrode coated in a flux. i am looking for a reg and tig torch setup to run gtaw on a smaw

all you need is an air cooled torch, argon, and a flow meter for DCPG tig. your welder would or should have a setting for tig so the engine diesn't have to start the arc from an idle. if you have one of the older or cheaper bobcats you may not be able to do it. does your machine have a switch for tig and mig?

long time ago i worked with a guy name russel briggs, but he pronounced it wussel bwiggs, any way he needed to tack something with 7018 and all he had was a tig rig so he put a rod in the collet and welded away. it all melted together on the second rod. morel of the story is stick and tig ain't the same thing.

weldcraft get one with a hand valve on the torch. you'll be all set for everything but white metals. cost is around 200, 250 or so will get you a few extra pieces you'll need.

c4 is your bobcat ac/dc? you need ac for white metals, alumminum, magneisuim, etc. you'll also need a high freq unit to weld them with. don't know that i ever saw high freq on a bobcat. for what you're wanting to do i'd get a foot pedal too. you should have a remote connecter on the bobcat for a foot pedal, or feeder box. guess it'd be no differant than on a eletric powered machine. give your supplier a call and ask them.

383 you don't need high freq for tig, with a boobcat or not. you do need high freq for white metals.
