Cheap ram air ideas

I have a 83 Z28 and want to get a better air induction system, I don't really care if it gives me a lot more power but any home fab systems got to be better than the stock air cleaner right? I have seen a headlight ram air system on a eclipse and thought it might work on my Z28. Any ideas would help thanks

by the way it is stock except for a reman 350 in place of the LG4 5.0L thanks

take out the high beams. or u can use pcv and have the air enter on the sides of the front license plate

thanks for the input. also have you ever seen it done or done it your self? I just bought this car about 2 months a go and the carb is radicaly detuned for gas mileage and to pass colorado emissions but have no plans to change that right now, just looking for cheap ways to improve performance and not hurt the mileage much

i helped a friend do it to his 67 chevelle. think about it this way do u use ur hi beams alot. he didnt so we did it that way instead of a dif hood. for my elco i put a aero scoop on it. the only bad thing if u put it on the out sides of the license plate it restricts flow to the rad. u dont want it to go down to far cuz then water gets in. the stock z dual snorkel works just fine for stock cars hope this helps

mine is from a l69 option i have two tubes one to the left the other to the right. and its right above the head lights. i dont know how the air gets in but it does. i know that the air cleaner is almost 200 for new and 150 for used so hope u have some deep pockets. jsut dont get an open cleaner cuz the bay is hot with all the shi t we have in there

I got some ram-air ideas on page 2 of my website.
I have TPI but i am sure you can use the same concept for your ride.

u know what would be sweet but ud have to fabricate it all. would be get z3 fenders or lowflyins fenders and put the air ducts that way. u can see pics of his fenders on my post on shaving.

no prob thats wat these forums are here for. to help people
