Transmission: th350 and th350
self built engine

built my first 355ci engine

old vetteheads 1.94/1.50 (ported myself)
cranecam 272
alu roller rockers
forged flattop (9.72) pistons
hv oil pump
holley 600
mallory hei
edel. perf. inlet
stubstack
dynomax shorty headers
dual exhaust with cheapo mufflers
dual electric fans
all metal oldsmobile radiator
2.94 rearaxle (soon to be 4.10 dana60 )
2500 hughes stall converter (th350)
b&m improver kit stage2

first testdrive: broke tires loose from start, but above 3000rpm it was kinda lousy.

next day i checked the advance, was only 22 degrees advance at 2500rpm!

so i calibrated it to 35 degrees, then i noticed the throttle cable was miss-adjust, i could only give 50% throttle max!

so ill fix that tomorrow , so now im excited what will happen if i give full throttle with 4.10 gear ratio!

i mean, it broke the tires loose with 2.94 gears and half throttle!

a stubstack is from K&N, it places on topof your carburetor and improves airflow.

Cool, does it actually work as advertised? 30cfm on a 650 carb is pretty good increase.

if you have a large amount of room above the carb, yes, it can help the air flow smoothly into it.

if you dont have a couple inches above the stack, it can hurt flow.

thats right!, i once placed a SS on in a low profile aircleaner, it was choking the engine at high rpm.
