what in the hell... thats not rust underneath that body filler is it? here's my before and after, did you weld in a peice of metal? how did you do yours?

no rust just some spot putty, yea welded and skim coated

 

its weird cause in the pic it looks like rust my bad, looks good finished tho

 

I did have to sand it again before prime and paint, I did wait a little long and there WAS some surface rust before finish

 

I did mine years ago. I also filled in the side mirror holes.

 

Just curious, gscz28, what color of paint is that?

 

looks good, this is the next thing i will do to the TA before shooting paint on it, don't have a stereo anymore so i guess i don't need an antena

 

luckily for me, my replacement fender doesnt have a spot for the antenna. so i get off easy on this job . unfortunately, its gonna be about a month before i get to work on it...

 

Mine is done now too.

 

I plan on doing this somewhere down the road as well and for those that might be worried about stereo reception w/o a antenna, Radio Shack sells a nice antenna that you can put somewhere in the dash and it picks up radio stations just fine.
