how to make a 91 wiper motor work in my 82
has anyone ever made this work, I've run out of ideas and I am ready to just graft a small section of firewall into my 82's firewall so it looks like it belongs there.
I've tried shims and nothing looks good. Lets not turn this into a leave the car stock battle, I'm putting 91 harnesses in my 82 and I cannot get the 82's wiper motor to run off the 91 harness so it's time to figure out how to make the 91 wiper motor fit my car

Ahhh...you've already noticed that it doesn't bolt up, and won't fit into the same recess intended for the original large motor.
In addition to swapping in the later harness, you also need to change the wiper switch in the steering column with one for an 84-up as the wiring changed then.
The 82-83 had +12V fed into the motor and grounded through the switch for the various functions. 84-up had the +12v going to the switch, then to the motor, which was itself grounded.

hey IROC post some pictures of how your doing it, I cut a section from my 84's firewall and I'm attempting the same thing, seems pretty thin to weld.

nice work IROC, gave me some ideas on how to tackle this problem. I'm going to be pulling my motor for a 350 swap so will weld a 84 up piece in to and repaint my engine compartment.
