TPI throttle body shaft mods

Had my throttle body modded in the fall along with new bushings, the TB works OK being flowed at 785cfm with no boring. Problem is the throttle is sticky just off idle and I have to lube it once in awhile- this really bugs me. Any body here machined in a pair of sealed bearings for the shafts of a TPI/LT1 TB?

I have the same problem with my stock throttle body. Not sure if it was the blades sticking or what.

TB Sticking

What I did on my old 48mm was to adjust the TB screw,
under cap: And open it up just slightly. Iac should compensate for that.
Worked for me
Might also check to see if the blades are centered.

When the TB is completely closed, it creates a vaccuum, sucking the blades tight against the bore. Cracking open the idle stop screw should help, as long as the IAC has enough movement to compensate for it. Some folks also drill small holes in the blades...

Ahh, the old hole in the throttle plate trick- used that one years ago for a Quadrabog. Didn't know it still works. Found a guy that will install needle bearings for $55.

Re: TPI throttle body shaft mods

Sorry reviving old thread. Today I dismantled my tpi throttle body by grinding the shaft on the throttle lever side. I dismantled it to take it for powder coating.

My plan was to thread the shaft to hold the throttle lever with a screw however when I removed it I realised how small the shaft diameter is. I don't imagine braising is an option as it would melt the plastic spring holder.

What are my options? I am sure someone must have a work around to this as I see people re bushing the shaft
