homemade spoiler?

would it be really hard to take my vinyl piece of crap spoiler, make a mold out of it, and then create my own fiberglass spoiler? Anyone ever tried it?

Unless you have a demand, a factory to manufacture them and alot of time and money it is easier to just buy one.

Now why would you post something as silly as that on the Fabrication forum?

Yes it's possible, probably not all that hard if you learn how to fiberglass. Sorry, can't help you there. :P

just askin

just thought i would gauge how rediculous that idea was. Ill prolly just replace the aero spoiler piece of crap with the spoiler from the early 80's, it wont warp and pit like the one i have now, and it doesnt cost 380 dollars to buy one from a salvage yard

Not hard at all I'm in the middle of making my own a variation of the 5inch spoiler. johnyiroc also made a spectacular spoiler for his car. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/auto...?highlight=zzd

anything is possible with enough knowledge and skill. You can't go out and buy one of those!

If you're going to make a spoiler, make a 5" spoiler like 87CIZ but for firebirds. That would be sweet. Otherwise go buy a 4th gen style spoiler.
