cold air intake

im not sure if this is the right thread but, i want to try and make a home made cold air intake, and save alot of money. my car has a mass air flow sensor, so i dont konw how to get around that and i want ti to look like the ram air intakes like on the "ram jets".

That filter on the end of that is the total opposite of cold air.

Convert your computer over to speed density (90-92) and buy that filter, I believe K&N sells it.

how do you do that?
i really dont know to much about computer controled cars.
all that electronic stuffs is waaaay above my head

Well then throw the idea of converting to SD out the window.

Basically if you want that setup, its going to look goofy with the MAF setup...the whole thing will be sticking off the throttle body like 8", and plus, you'll lose power from sucking in hot engine air, compared to if you did a real cold air induction system.

the basic dual snorkel style air induction that goes on the 2.8 TPI engine is a good start, you could just make your own dual snorkel that will flow more and pull air from down below the engine closer to the ground.. the picture you showed is all show and no go. Ditch that worthless joint and go with high flow

so then, what would be the best way to make a home made cold air kit for performance aspect?

No really if you really looking to make this cold air intake there are some pretty good ideas floating around just have to do a and pick the one you like.
