simple airbox delete cover
since i went turbo i had no use for the stock airbox.and my intercooler and coolant catch can were mounted out front.

which looked kind of ugly with nothing there,i was also lossing airflow threw the intercooler and radiator due to the air being able to blow up over the top.
so i cam up with this stainless ground sheetmetal cover.

and installed

its a lil dirty in the pics

wait, so your V6 car got the TPI style air inlet??
because my V6 parts car, and my sisters V6 (91 and 92) both have the gay right angle snorkle to the canster filter..... and of course, the factory cover.

yes it had the tpi airbox,i belive the 90-92 speed density cars all got that snorkle to the canister filter.and all firebirds got the same canister filter,if u actually wanted to u could swap on the tpi airbox

i got the TPI airbox w/ my MPFI V6, it even comes with the MAT sensor located in the airbox where it can actually measure cooler air and allow for more performance. TPIs have the MAT under the plenum at the back.
looks like a sick mod btw.

hey guys i just remeberd something about this, it wont work with a stock hood, theres no place for the spring or saftey latch, and if i cut out the holes for either it dosent look as good.cause it sits off the surface.though if i make one that conforms to the front structure i could do it,if u guys were still interested.
if so ill bend/fab one up to fit a stock hood and take pics of it on my car.

oh ok, well id still like to see some of those pics if ya fab one up, just see what u can do to make it look good, i really hate having nothing there
Here's one i made last week it still needs a little sanding on the edges but you get the idea.
It is better than the open space that use to be there.
Also you could use a flat bit with a normal hood but you would have to use hood pins.
Jeff.

yeha if i would have used hood pins i could have made it flat, but i still use my reg hood release since i have a bolt on hood.though without the spring for the hood, i cant open the hood myself unless i wedge something between the hood and bumper cover before i pull the hood release.
.
as for u other guys im taking the car to the shop over the weekend for some work so ill see about making the ones that will work with factory hoods and retian the safety latch and spring for u guys
