Cowl hood, keeping the intake air cold....

Are there any pics out there with a third gen and a Cowl hood tray under the carb? I'm looking for anything that will help me figure out how to fabricate it. I don't want the engine bay heating up the intake air....

Would it be easire to just put a sheet of aluminum on the hood, and cut a circle out for the aircleaner, or to make a tray under the carb with foam so it seals on the hood?

Opinions or ideas WELCOME....

your idea would be good.. just make sure the hole is big enough to compensate for engine torquing.. or you could just run solid motor mounts like me..

Here's what I did a while back. I'm running a harwood 3 inch cowl and only run that pan at the track.

Why only at the track? Isn't the whole idea to take in cooler air from outside the engine compartment via the highpressure area at the windshield, thus resulting in higher engine efficiency? Why wouldn't you want your engine to be more efficient, thus making more power on the street also?

it gets less efficient if debris comes into his open carb.

I run filters at the track. I cut out a piece of aluminum and attached it to the underside of the filter base. The sealing foam is inside the cowl and scoop.

Built it. The foam is the replacement foam from Moroso.

Haven't made anything to hold a filter in place yet and I hardly drive the car on the street anymore.
