I cant get it to take the pic on the site. Ummmm. You know the Ashtray up front. I wanted to make that a plate for the Window switches and an extra Cig outlet on the driverside for my IPOD.

Re: need something like this

Today I will be doing alot of work on the car being my day off. Project will include but not limited to:
New Dist
Valve lash Adjustement-shop lied about doing it and now that I am in KS It sounds Like I have exshuast in the Carb. Took carb off and there was carbon on the intake walls.
High Speed Blower Relay
Fast Idle Relay

Now for that panel. I have some 1/8 in plexie glass I will be using. I am going to print of the template for the Cup holder thing and modify that to take the window switchs and an out let for my Ipod. I am thinking of doing two layers of plexie and having label paper in the middle. So I can put the up and down lable in it. Then frost the bottom layer and paint the top layer with under carage paint. And for the last bit is to but a blue bulb under the new panel to light up the labels. Sound easy but will take pics of the thing. I am converting the crank windows to electric and didn't like the factory locations of the switches.

Re: need something like this

Heres what I got complete this last Monday - Wensday, cause Iam stupid. Got good hatch struts on, put a new dist on, Valve adjustment ( this where I am stupid.) Crossed the wires for the dist while putting the valve covers back on. Car would not run so I could not finish the drivers side valve lash. So the next day I sat and looked at it and found the problem. Thats what I get for working on it all day and not planning right. Then I fixed the vent issue. I found that the hose of the intake manifold was pluged to what looked like the MAP but it really was the BAP. So I placed the hose on the A/C tank and it worked.

Tomorrow I will be trying to knock out the panel. I will take some pictures to put on here.

Re: need something like this

Tomorrow I will be getting my panel. $35 total. Its going to be nice. Now I just need to wire the new outlet to a power source. Does any one know a good way to do this.
----------
Also Will be hiding a kill switch in the center console hidden under the carpet. Hopefully I can find it if I was to forget.

did they make the plate to your specifications, or is it the wrong size?
last thing i would do is fill a gap with putty if i had a custom part made.
its going to take away from it, IMO.

Re: need something like this

I took the ash tray part of the console out and took it to them. But I also took the the measurements from the Cup holder 101 to them as well. As far as putty I mean the magnum steal. I will be taking the shifter panel off to rejoin the two. I still have to finish the part "painting it". The gap is between the shifter plate and ash tray. I cut it in two to take it to them. Thats why there was a gap.

you must have used a 1/2 thick saw blade by the pics.
how large is the gap.
it may look decent after painting.
