Digital Guage to measure air flow through intake?
I hope this is the right area for this question. Does anyone know of a digital guage that measures air flow through the intake? I am trying to find one more guage to install in my car and though this would be kind of cool. I have a 350 TPI currently being installed from an 87 Iroc. Unfortunatly I am not doing the swap myself
(it would take me 2 years to finish with work, family, ect) so i don't know if it has a mass air flow sensor or not. I would be greatfull for any help. BTW i searched and searched but the search kept bringing up any thread that had "Guage", "Air Flow", "measure" or "intake" in regardless of thread content.

If it's from an 87 IROC, then it at least used to have a MAF sensor. Whether or not it will after the swap is a question for the person doing it.

is there a guage that can be hooked up to the MAF for a guage cluster inside the car.

I would like to see air amount if possible.

no i don't know of one, nor do i see why this would be practical in any way, shape or form. If you want to see a number go up and down then buy a wideband 02

I am working on a guage cluter and I have most of the "normal" guages you would see in a car. I have a spot for one more guage and would like to do something different. I thought it would be kind of cool to see from inside the car how much air is being forced into the intake with my Ram Air setup.

You could read the flow rate from the ECM through the ALDL. As for how much additional flow you'll get from any "ram-air" effect, there'll be almost none.

What other gauges do you have? We may be able to suggest one that's a little more useful.
Vacuum is a good indication of how hard the engine is working, and is also a good "throttle position sensor" type of gauge as well.
In this day and age, anything is possible though. But an industrial flow-meter wouldn't match the rest of your gauges

Ok, oil temp and trans temp are a little silly. not much you can do about that eh? But hey, you've got them.
I'd put a vacuum gauge in there if it were me. Actually, I think i'm going to do exactly that.

not really looking for something "usefull". Just was some extra guages cause I love the way in sports cars. Vacuum sounds like a great idea. Thanks for all the replies.
