Custom Hood on eBay
Custom Hood on eBay
Hey all, found this on eBay. I've never seen a hood like this, and since I already have a hood (or 2) I figured I'd post and see if anyone would be interested in it.
Keep in mind, it's not my listing, I just saw it.

Pretty nice if you ask me.

That's the twin turbo hood (my personal aftermarket favorite) and it goes for about 450 new + shipping.

FINALLY!!! i though i was the only one with this hood.
mine is fiberglass.
off topic do u think that the two scoops for the twin turbo should be cut out even if i don't have a twin turbo?

Re: Custom Hood on eBay
In all honest, I thought this was dead, but I'll put a little thought in here...
I think if you cut those vents or louvres out (or whatever they are) wouldn't that create a problem for rain, snow, dust, etc. getting in there? I don't have turbo on my car, but I would think that sucking any of that into the turbo could be problematic.
If you wanted to be different, what about two little scoops or something?
----------
Sorry, wrote the above before looking at the hood again.
Why would you spend the money on the hood with scoops if you don't want them? Why not buy one of the cowl induction hoods and cut the vent in it like the picture?
Besides, IMO the scoops look cool and it can never hurt to have more fresh air in the engine bay!

Nah, my Datsun has a scoop just like that on the drivers side for turbo cooling purposes and nothing bad ever gets in there. But what most people don't realize about scoops like that is that they are for letting hot air out not ramming cold air in so that helps keep most debris out.
