Has anyone ever tried this?

I came across this website------ emachineshop.com
Anybody ever tried it? Looks like it might be a good place to make custom parts.

Re: Has anyone ever tried this?

I just checked it out and made a piece of aluminum that is 2.5"x1"x0.12" with the word IROC-Z embossed... just a basic key chain. The thing cost $734.xx for just one!!!! I know it was made of aluminum, but... HOLY ****!! That wasn't even the tighter tolerances or better finish I was hoping for.

It was fun playing with the drawing thing but I'll pass on buying anything.

Yeah, unless you make 50 of them, its not very cheap. Cool program though, it does help you come up with some ideas.

Re: Has anyone ever tried this?

I wrote something up for that site before. It was a tone wheel to allow 4th gen ABS systems to work on 2wd S10 hubs. If I ordered 10, it was really really reasonable...especially considering I couldnt "shadetree machine" a tone wheel that would even remotely work. haha.

Its great if you need a lot of something though.
