My LCA, Panahrd bar and more build

Im at school and i need something to do in my free time and why not build parts for my car. Im starting with the lower control arms and then the panhard bar. So far i made the tube adapters and i got the heim joints and hopefully this weekend i will get the 1.25 .120" tubeing to complete the LCA and panhard bars.

i turned them down from round stock i was able to get my hands on it for free it really shouldnt matter what you use to just as long as they end up how you want them to.

Re: My LCA, Panahrd bar and more build

Ya, i can make some for you i would like to get $60.00 plush shipping costs. It would be a little bit though, because I have spring break in two weeks and that is when im going to put them on my car and when i will make the spacers to keep them centered.

The LCA are not welded yet only tacked but i plan on doing that on Tuesday.

If any one else wants some let me know it will be a little while before they are done only because i am an engineering student so i want to run some test on these parts to see if they will hold up to just about anything. And i have to finish designing them

What about the rod end to chassis bushings?

I suggest one thing to consider, might to make them in different widths, to offset the LCA inwards, for a bit more of tire clearance.

Like these.....

Instead of equal length ones.

I need a set with offset bushing for a bit more room to fit the 315s on my car.

Re: My LCA, Panahrd bar and more build

I would love to get me a set of those too! Great work. And you said you turned those yourself? Damn! Send me a PM if you think you could make me a pair. Appreciate it!

Now you should make them adjustable to make it easier to dial in for racing. BMR has a great example: http://www.bmrfabrication.com/F3-suspension.htm

Re: My LCA, Panahrd bar and more build

ya that is how i plan on making my bushings the only problem is i dont have my car even close to me (300 miles away) so im just going to make a set that is over length and then cut them down but when im home in two weeks i will measure for different offsets.

as for the adjustability on the ones i made there is about .5" in each direction.
and because the rod ends are right hand and left hand all you have to do is loosen the jam nuts and turn the bar.

Re: My LCA, Panahrd bar and more build

does any one know the distance between the mount so i know how long to make my spacers or could someone measure for me please.

I can also make some of these if people want them I would sell them for $15.00 plush shipping which would be about 5 dollars.

Re: My LCA, Panahrd bar and more build

Let me know how your set works out and when you have a final set with the offsets. You should totally test them out on a road track to see how they turn out. Good luck.

Re: My LCA, Panahrd bar and more build

I painted the LCA's today and being the first day driving my car in over 6 months it was to good to be true. My mom backed in to my car and took out the driver side mirror and dented the door and scratched the whole side of the car. but i am proud to say the expidition she was driving is far worse. Im gona take some pics tomorrow of my LCA and ill throw one of the damge in too.

Re: My LCA, Panahrd bar and more build

turned out really good. like to hear about the fitment and improvement over stock. i would take a set prob too if u sold it as a kit. rodends, tubing already cut. and aluminum spacers. just without the welded etc. i can do that.

Re: My LCA, Panahrd bar and more build

I am willing to make sets for people assembled or not what ever you want. Its gona be a while tho because im swamped at school with our Baja team i would say the soonest i could start building them would be in about three weeks somewhere around the 10th of April i do need to change how much i would sell them for because a complete set would cost more than $60 to make. un assembled i would like to get $85 and assembled i would like to get $100 before shipping and i would be willing to sell sets without rod ends for $50 and then you can buy your own becasue that is where the quality comes in becasue you can buy them from $10 dollars a picece to $30 a piece and you need four of them

They look great. Have you test fit them on your car yet? I would like a set all made up. Can you make a set that are offset?
