GT500KR hood pins?
GT500KR hood pins?

Wondering if anyone has got a chance to get a better look at these. Just wondering if they would be a good idea. I plan on getting a fiberglass hood. Anyways, thoughts? Also, would it be a good idea to run these without a hood latch?
Found 2 different styles of them:

if youre not partial to the gt500 ones and since youre painting a fiber hood anyways, these looked like a nice, unobtrusive set. on ebay for $40 a pair....

the aerocatch setup looks like a lot better quality, and i like how you can get ones that lock, but they look kinda bulky... kinda wacky, on their own site, they tell you the black screws that come with it are going to rust. http://www.aerocatch.net/

Re: GT500KR hood pins?
do not run these without a hood latch!! they arent designed to handle the loads, and WILL break.

Re: GT500KR hood pins?
I really like the aerocatch ones. If I had the $$ I would definitely have those....
O.P.= Those 500 pins look alright but I think there are better ones out there for the price. But thats just my opinion. I have hood pins, and I don't run the latch, however, I learned the hardway to run the safety latch (I think its called) the actual latch you have to "unhook" from the front before lifting up the hood...
