Re: Viper Powered 85 Z28
That's true, usually just side pipes or whatever. I used to work next to a viper performance shop. They had a 1500hp viper, that almost sounded good. But I'm assuming those cars are just side pipes with no type of crossover.

Re: Viper Powered 85 Z28
When the time comes I am going to call Borla and see what they suggest for a more throaty growl. Found a mock-up viper block for $450.00. That is going to give me the time to fab everything and save for the final purchase. Also n a sick note.... I found a Rod shop that is currently putting a Viper v-10 in a Volkswagen Karmann Ghia.

Do you already have the motor. And I would think one would have to be half way wealthy to pull ofvthia swap.

I do not have the motor yet. I am going to do the build in the beginning with a mock block from http://www.payr.com/index.htm. Well I am going to dedicate $500/week to the build. Thats the plan anyway.

$2000/month is about what I spent when I built my outlaw car... a year or two and you'll be there. Good luck!

I did some more tear down this week. I also ordered the mock-up block. Hopefully it will be here next week so I can start the front suspension.

V10s can sound pretty good. Im looking at dropping one in a 70 challenger and have been looking for sound clips online. I havent found a good sounding viper, but the srt10 rams with the same viper v10s can sound nasty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwK4txj3xks

Re: Viper Powered 85 Z28
It all should fit in, but the shifter for the tranny may be a little to far back to shift comfortably, so you may have to have an extended and angled shift ****, not too sure though. And if you do need it, its not really a big deal.

Re: Viper Powered 85 Z28
That didn't stop Shelby, he just had the shifter reversed in his cobras. Do the same for this. Have the shifter bent forward from a point further back, and there you go.

Re: Viper Powered 85 Z28
dude, your NUTS!!

its probably going to be a tight fit, good luck
if/when you get it done, you should get a few of the old Pentastars and put on the car, 1 in the traditional Mopar location, and then 1 next to each of the factory Z28 emblems.

Re: Viper Powered 85 Z28
all Mopars used to display the Pentastar on the lower back part of the right front fender.
but i think displaying it just on the lower right fender would be too subtle, so i feel something like 1 of these this would work.

Re: Viper Powered 85 Z28
yeah, that would work
edit, i just thought of something, "they" may say using the Pentastar like that on a GM is copyright infringement

I drew up viper logo with the z/28 between it's teeth. I am going to have it machined by a friends machine shop.

Someone did a successful swap into a mustang svt cobra a few years ago, side exhaust and all... came out completely ****, executed perfectly - cleanest stang on the planet and the only one I don't think is complete garbage...
