The Watt's link appears to be disconnected from the axle tube(s). I've never seen the damper assembly before but from the geometry it looks like it's meant to damp vertical movement. But still looking.

That looks like a cantilever (sp?) shock set up similar to what many mountain bikes have. Weird since it also has normally mounted shocks. I would love to see the rest of that car.

That's Twin Turbo's car. I'm sure he'd be happy to share photos. Be prepared to drool and be very jealous.

I also saw that same set up in another car....the upper bracket thing, unless this is the same car with a different rear etc

I don't think its the same car, but it is the same owner. IIRC, he has two cars with that setup.

Re: Rear Suspension - Who makes this upper brace / arm?

Yes, both are mine. The damper is a stewart shock pump, it's designed to pump rear end oil. The gold colored things are 1 way valves.

Re: Rear Suspension - Who makes this upper brace / arm?

I see that as the car moves up and down it'll operate the damper/pump but where exactly does it pump the oil from/to? Any idea how much it helps with lubrication?

from and to the differential, it helps keep stuff cool. These things get blistering hot, especially @ high speeds.

so it does the same thing as an electric pump for circulating the diff oil through a cooler, but its more of a mechanical setup? neat.

Re: Rear Suspension - Who makes this upper brace / arm?

Have you ever been able to measure the oil temperature at speed with/without the pump? It's the first time I've seen a solution for something I didn't know could be an issue. Looks clever but does need vertical motion to work. Is it custom or universal fit?

Re: Rear Suspension - Who makes this upper brace / arm?

I have a rear end cooler on my corvette and I forgot the exact number but the pump goes on after only about a 1/4 hour of spirited driving and only runs for a short while to cool it down. I think I have it set to turn on @ 150 F or thereabout

Re: Rear Suspension - Who makes this upper brace / arm?

You can also simply wire an electric pump and switch it with a temp switch:
