Functional Cowl or Ram Air

Has anyone taken a 4150 style TB and made a functional cowl hood or a TPI type efi intake and made a functional hood for it. I would like to see pictures of anyones fancy fab work on there hood for functional ram air or clearance or what have you. I have to buy a hood before long and I am leaning toward a BBC Stinger hood or a daytona turbo hood. Either way I would like to make it functional for a 4150 style throttle body or a Holley stealth Ram type EFI Intake. The stinger hood design looks like it would line up well for a HSR Ram Air with that forward inlet in the scoop. Making a functional flapper for it to keep the rain out would be the challenge.

The Jongblod hood comes set up to seal to a carb style set up.

You don't need a flapper for water, you need a water separator. Basically a vertical S curve in the duct with plates for the water to condense and collect on and drain to low spots in the curve, with drain holes at the bottom. The duct will still get the pressurization effect of the ram air without worrying about water being fed into the engine. You can also add a screen inside the S curve to help separate the water or large debris, but this can become a leaf trap and block airflow if not kept clear. Look up old designs for ideas.
