I was on goolge the other day looking at third gen pictures the other day and came across a car with a Tardga top. I know they've been done a few times before but mostly from t-top cars. Would it be possible to make one from a hard top car? I know a lot of extra braci my would be required but I plan on running a six point cage and either inner and out subframe connectors or custom ones and a strut tower brace. Would that be sufficient bracing? I dont plan on a whole lot of racing maybe the occasional trip to the drag strip. And I plan on making between 400 and 500 hp to the wheels eventually. I'd love to hear some thoughts and suggestions.

 

I want to-do the same, but I have a t-top...That I want to make in to Targa. ..My concern is not on how, or if it should be done or not...I just need to know what to-do about weather stripping...My car has U.M.I. sub frame connectors....that should be enough bracing...but I also plan on strut tower braceing ...

I have an idea about using the weather stripping from a convertible,, but that would do it from bottom of one A piller to the other side...but what to-do about the other side ???? ....I have see G-bodys done and made in to a Targa but the ones I seen didn't make a top to fit in...and didn't need to worry about weather stripping. ..but I want a top to fit in and lock down...

I wanted to start a topic about Targa tops ..but not like the others...most other threads trun from how too, to a big debate on if the car is safe and how it will mess up your car...and you'll get..others bring this up about how they did it...but no pics to back it up... a lot of people talk about it, but very few people have done it...
